{"id":24211,"date":"2022-01-27T14:55:08","date_gmt":"2022-01-27T22:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.firstunitarianportland.org\/?p=24211"},"modified":"2022-01-27T14:55:18","modified_gmt":"2022-01-27T22:55:18","slug":"voting-member-whats-that","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.firstunitarianportland.org\/voting-member-whats-that\/","title":{"rendered":"Voting Member&#8230; What&#8217;s That?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Every spring,&nbsp;<em>Voting Members<\/em>&nbsp;are asked to cast ballots for the proposed coming year\u2019s church budget; candidates for our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstunitarianportland.org\/about-us\/board\/\">Board of Trustees<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstunitarianportland.org\/about-us\/nominating-committee\/\">Nominating Committee<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstunitarianportland.org\/foundation\/\">Foundation<\/a>; and any other special items that must come before the congregation. And this year, there is something very special indeed that will come before the congregation: voting to call a new Senior Minister!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To be eligible to vote,<\/strong>&nbsp;our Church\u2019s Bylaws and Governing Policies require the following conditions, which must be met by&nbsp;<strong>Monday, April 4<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You must first become a member by signing our membership book (or, in these virtual times, \u201csigned on\u201d by being in contact with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstunitarianportland.org\/staff\/rev-thomas-disrud\/\">Rev.
