Supporting Immigrants during this Holiday Season & Beyond

Offered by members of the Immigrant Justice Action Group (IJAG).

IJAG members have relationships with numerous local organizations supporting justice for immigrants. Below are a few organizations where IJAG members are currently involved. [This is not meant to be a comprehensive list of organizations that need support, but solely a few suggestions from IJAG members.] Please consider supporting these organizations or other organizations working towards justice for immigrants.

Organizations to Support:

  1. Bienestar:
    • Mission: Builds housing, hope, and community for the wellbeing of Latinx, immigrants, and all families in need.

  2. Immigrant Mutual Aid Coalition (IMAC):
    • Mission: Provides support to Latinx and immigrant communities in Clackamas County.

  3. Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice (IMIrJ):
    • Mission: Accompanies and equips communities and people of faith in Oregon to advance immigrant justice.
    • How to support: Make a donation here. For more information, contact IJAG member Wendy.
  4. PCC Dreamer’s Resource Center and PCC Legal Resource Center:
    • Mission: Assists Portland Community College students and the community, including helping dreamers with DACA renewals.
    • How to support: Donate here and select “Other” to cover DACA filing fees for non-PCC students.
  5. Refugee Care Collective:
    • Mission: Serves diverse populations of refugees being resettled in the Portland Metro area.

  6. Western Farm Workers Association (WFWA):
    • Mission: Works to improve living and working conditions for low-income workers, including farm workers.
    • How to support: Get involved here and donate blankets for their holiday gift drive (before Tuesday, Dec 12th). For more information, contact IJAG members Mary Ann or Laurie.

Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference in creating a more just and inclusive community.
