Can you have religion without God? Our answer is yes as a religiously diverse movement, which includes humanists (atheists, agnostics, skeptics) and theists of all stripes. This feels especially relevant as the numbers of people who identify as nontheists and as religiously unaffiliated are on the rise. In honor of Black History Month, let us honor the contributions Black humanists have made to meaning making, including about suffering, in ways that lead to liberation.
