This church year, we focus our giving on climate justice initiatives that use innovative solutions and an intersectional lens to support and build power for communities at the front lines of the climate crisis.
For the month of December, we share our plate with Seeding Justice. Formerly known as the MRG Foundation, their vision is a just and joyful Oregon where people, cultures and ecosystems thrive by focusing on the movement for racial, gender, disability, economic, and environmental justice across the State. Seeding Justice believes that philanthropy should be transparent and people-led, rooted in communities who have been and continue to be disenfranchised and should seek deep, systemic, and long-lasting change—not charity.
Seeding Justice was critical to establishing the Oregon Worker Relief Fund and partnered with the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs to establish the Chu’ush Fund to provide clean water on the Warm Springs Reservation.
