Sarah S.

Sarah S (she/her) is a retired Unitarian Universalist minister who has been deeply involved in UU leadership and ministry for decades. She joined First Church in 1980, where she was active in the choir, worked with elders, and held leadership roles in Religious Education. Sarah later pursued new congregation organizing, served in Pacific Northwest District leadership, and was ordained as a UU minister in 2008. She ministered to congregations in Juneau, Fairbanks, and Portland’s West Hills Fellowship before spending eight years on UUA staff in the Department of Congregational Life. Now retired, Sarah is thrilled to return to First Church, where she volunteers with the Salmon Street Shower Project and sings in the choir. She enjoys music, preaching occasionally, and spending time with her three grandsons. Sarah’s passion for community service and engagement continues to enrich her spiritual journey.
