For the month of May, First Unitarian shares our plate offering with the Pacific Northwest Family Circle, an all-volunteer community group that supports Oregon and Washington Families whose Loved Ones were killed or injured by police officers. When a Loved One is killed by the police, it puts the families into a club they never wanted to be in. The Family Circle provides emotional support for traumatized Families, educates the public on police violence, supports Families in implementing their ideas for justice, and makes their voices heard together at the local, regional, and state levels. Founded in 2016 by two mothers whose sons were killed by the police in Oregon, the Family Circle is dedicated to making change so that no more lives are lost due to policing.
We thank you for your support of this important organization for mutual care and political action in the Pacific Northwest.
