For the month of June, we share our plate with the Northwest Abortion Access Fund that serves Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska. NWAAF provides a toll-free hotline staffed by trained volunteers and they help people pay for their abortion care including travel, safe lodging and clinic fees. The Access Fund believes all people have the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children they have in safe and sustainable communities. These are the tenets of reproductive justice, developed by Black women and defined by SisterSong. Reproductive justice demands that we work at the intersections of racial, economic, and gender justice. The Abortion Access Fund envisions a world where people can easily access safe, legal abortion care with respect, dignity, and compassion.
