Greetings and Happy Holidays!
It has been wonderful to watch several of our holiday traditions come back to life this season. I’m sure we are not the only ones who welcomed the return of the Alliance cookie and treasures sale, and we have our venerable pageant to look forward to on Christmas Eve. We again shared a dedication of our children in worship last week. Our social justice groups held holiday collections to help our less fortunate community members enjoy this season.
Through all these experiences that are part of the fabric of our church community, it runs a thread of service. Unitarian Universalists have a strong tradition of service, working to build a better world and an ever-more-inclusive, beloved community. We each ask ourselves as we move through the long dark of winter and the celebrations of light to remind us of the hope of spring, how we can be of service.
One of the ways we are of service is by supporting the church’s work with our time, talent, and resources. We have completed the most outward phase of our Season of Giving and received pledges for $1.3 million of our $1.6 million goal. Outreach will continue into January. If you have pledged, thank you! If you are still deciding on how to contribute, we are excited to hear from you.
May you all enjoy the warmth and joy this season can bring.
Blessing to you all,
Board of Trustees
