This church year, we have been sharing our plate with organizations that center on youth leadership. In June and July, we are sharing our plate with “Friends of Noise,” which supports creative youth in Portland through all-ages concerts, workshops, and experience navigating the music scene. “Friends of Noise” is building on the values of collectivism and restorative justice. They seek to transform the culture of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth access to the music industry.
“Friends of Noise” fosters a healthy ecosystem for all ages to thrive by providing youth-focused programs, teaching industry skills, developing resources, mentorship, and professional development. They are meeting young people where they are by facilitating opportunities for immersion into a safer arts community while uplifting youth voices.
