Day of Mindfulness: Practicing Presence, Kindling Connection

NOTE: This is a hybrid event. You may attend in-person or you may attend virtually on Zoom.

“The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

With the Autumn season here, we are returning to work-schedules, starting classes, cooking the harvest, getting out sweaters, boots and rain coats.  We are preparing for holiday gatherings and going to church! Taking a contemplative day can help us feel grounded. By paying attention in our quiet moments, we cultivate connections to nature and to others. We can tap into our innate potential for intuition, kindness, and trust; we can kindle compassion for action and for personal relations.

In a supportive group, through guided meditation, deep relaxation, shared discussion, and time for silence, we will practice the presence needed for deepening and developing connections.

Facilitators:  Katie Radditz teaches meditation, and is a First Unitarian Portland Spiritual Director. John Wadsworth is a Zen teacher in Thich Nhat Hanh’s Order of Interbeing.

When: Saturday, October 8, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
