Barbara is a recent transplant to Portland, Oregon, having moved from Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2024. A seeker of spiritual meaning, she found her way to the Unitarian Church in June 2024, drawn by the congregation’s sense of togetherness and friendliness. Barbara was captivated by the music ministry, particularly the performances of Garrett Bond. Though not musically inclined herself, she comes from a family of singers. Barbara officially joined the church in January 2025, marking her first church membership since 1973. She has quickly become involved in the community, joining the Alliance and volunteering at the Salmon Street Shower Project. Barbara values the church for providing her with a supportive community and inspiring her with members who are deeply committed to living their faith.
