UU Global AIDS

Our Unitarian Universalist principles call us to become active in responding to the crisis of HIV/AIDS, which has already killed 25 million, infected 40 million and will leave 40 million orphans by the year 2010.

We must make our voice heard on the role of pervasive human rights violations in the spread of the epidemic. We must speak out against the restrictions imposed by the religious right, which have succeeded in channeling funds from prevention initiatives to abstinence programs.

We are active in three main areas:
Education
Advocacy
Grassroots efforts

We call you to join us, Unitarian Universalists and people of other faiths, in fighting global AIDS. The pandemic of our time can only be stemmed through broad action by involved citizens. Together we can bring about a more just assistance to those effected by AIDS.
